Myotherapy - Can a Myotherapist help you?
Myotherapy looks to improve movement and strength, relieve and assist with muscular tightness, stiffness, pain and dysfunction that adversely affect a person's daily activities and quality of life.
Myotherapy incorporates the assessment of muscular injury and dysfunction, uses various physical modalities to treat pain and rehabilitate muscles, tendons & ligaments in order to treat and correct the underlying causes.
Myotherapy can be used for a number of injuries or conditions that result from strains, sprains, occupational, postural and recreational stresses, emotional stress, incorrect ergonomics, faulty bio-mechanics, muscular imbalances, traumatic or overuse injuries or chronic neuromuscular or musculoskeletal illness or disease. These underlying causes may have symptoms such as general aches and pains, headaches, neck or back pain, joint stiffness or reduced flexibility.
Rehabilitation of the injury or condition can be done through exercise and/or stretching prescription and corrective advice.
